Wilderness Youth Project

We recently created a 6-foot banner to promote the Wilderness Youth Project. The organization’s mission is to foster confidence, health, and a life-long love of learning for young people and families through active outdoor experiences and mentoring.

Since its inception in 1999, WYP has grown into a well-established non-profit with strong support from the community, offering after school, school-day and summer programs for children age three up through high school.

Children are introduced to creeks, beaches, mountain trails, and open spaces in Santa Barbara’s abundant front country. They learn naturalist and communication skills from a nature-based mentoring curriculum that combines experience in nature with a hands-on learning process.
